In 2025, the Town completed a new downtown master plan designed to provide a vision for the future of the downtown area. The plan reimagines the downtown core as vibrant, walkable, active, and an authentic celebration of Bargersville’s heritage. The plan outlines ideas for the future look of 150 acres in the existing downtown as well as 1,800 acres of farmland immediately to the north, which included mixed use commercial and residential development.

The vision contemplates a core principle: all roads lead to downtown Bargersville. The redevelopment plan creates space for a diverse mix of retail, specialty shops, restaurants, hospitality, and civic and cultural uses. At the same time, it outlines improvements to ease pedestrian flow, integrate arts and culture, and connect open spaces and trails throughout the district

This residential and retail space, which will feature 255 apartments and 11,000 square feet of commercial space, will be the first of its kind in Bargersville. Barrett & Stokely received the green light to develop The Jefferson, which will be located on land at the northeast corner of SR 135 and SR 144 in 2025. This development reflects Bargersville’s commitment to offering quality of place along with quality of opportunity, creating spaces where people genuinely want to live, work, and gather.

Bellingham is a single-family and townhouse community under construction just south of SR 144 along SR 135. Lennar Homes is building on 264 lots that will be well-connected to downtown Bargersville amenities. The community will be served by Franklin Community Schools.

Several mixed use development projects are underway along SR 135 near Smokey Row Road and Whiteland Road.
